    The following personal data are processed by the Belgian Red Cross in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR): email address, title, surname, first name, address.
  2. Purposes and legal basis
    The personal data which you provide to us by means of the relevant form are processed by the Belgian Red Cross for the purposes of: 
    • contacting you about the execution of the donation contract,
    • sending you a tax certificate and keeping a record of the data required to check compliance with tax law (where annual financial support is equal to or above the minimum threshold established by tax law, which currently stands at EUR 40),
    • notifying you of the activities carried out by the Belgian Red Cross thanks to your financial support.

      For the above purposes, your data are kept for a period of 7 years from 1 January of the year following the tax period in which the last donation was made, in order to comply with the tax and accounting obligations of the Belgian Red Cross.
  3. Recipients and storage methods
    • Your personal data are processed on the above basis by Belgian Red Cross employees and are not disclosed to third parties.
    • Your data are anonymised prior to publication on our website.
    • The Belgian Red Cross subcontractors responsible for hosting the data and soliciting support from the general public have responded to a GDPR compliance assessment procedure conducted by the Belgian Red Cross.
    • The data are stored in a secure database accessible solely to the Belgian Red Cross.
  4. Transfer outside the EU
    No data are transferred outside the European Union. No transfers are made outside the databases belonging to the Belgian Red Cross.
  5. Your rights
    Should you, at any time, wish to exercise your personal data protection rights, you may complete the form available in the privacy section of our website or contact the data protection delegate in order to do so. The Belgian Red Cross will do its utmost to find and resolve the problem.

    Completing the form will allow you to obtain the personal data concerning you (free of charge within a reasonable volume and, where appropriate, in electronic form), as well as, where appropriate, the rectification or erasure of any such data that are inaccurate, incomplete or irrelevant or the restriction of processing.
